  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yeast mixture by dissolving yeast and sugar in warm water; let it sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in salt, oil, and 2 cups of flour; gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead until smooth, place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide into 16 pieces, roll each piece into a rope, and shape into bones.
  5. Allow shaped breadsticks to rise for another 45 minutes on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) during the last rise.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown; brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and parmesan.
