  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until cooked through; drain any excess fat.
  3. Season the meat with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the meat mixture and half of the cream of mushroom soup mixed with milk. Repeat the layers.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and drizzle melted butter over it.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for about 45 minutes. Remove foil during the last 15 minutes to brown the cheese.
