  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups very hot water

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter (or vegetable oil), and vanilla; mix until smooth.

  5. In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and chopped pecans; sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  6. Carefully pour very hot water over the entire mixture without stirring.
