  • 2 cups cake flour, sifted

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
  • 1 oz (2 tbsp) red food coloring, liquid or gel
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk or plant-based cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease/flour a bundt pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 5-6 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and vinegar.
  4. In another bowl, sift together cake flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Mix buttermilk with red food coloring until blended.
  6. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into wet mixture in alternating batches with red buttermilk mix.
  7. Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and bake for 75-85 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. For the glaze, beat softened cream cheese until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is reached.
